Online Store!

My online store is back up, and it’s stocked with a lot of new work. All originals, and all PRICED TO MOVE! Some as low as $6. Yes, $6. Yes, there’s only one item that’s $6, but that doesn’t mean all the others are $500. 😉 Everything is under $100. Items available include: my husband’s abstract acrylic paintings, my own abstract acrylic paintings on vinyl LPs, handmade leather cuff bracelets, ink paintings and drawings, woodburned plaques, polymer clay sculptures, and more! Acrylic Pouring

Acrylic Pouring

Welcome to my latest obsession: acrylic pouring. How long will this endeavor last? I’m not sure, but I am thoroughly enjoying it, as I do all artistic experimentation. I’ve been painting on canvas and Yupo, but so far my favorite substrate to work on is old vinyl records. I created a series of these for an exhibition recently (which includes 7 pieces from 45 local artists, each featuring a dominant color of a prism). Thus my “Dark Side of the Moon(s?)” series was born, paying homage to the first and only thing I think...

Spirits

First things first, this is where I share my art. So, here’s some art. Here’s a group of mini-paintings that I dubbed my “American Spirit” series. Each piece is the size of a cigarette box, and I mounted 144# Yupo to MDF, so each little painting is a “block”. (Sides and back are black, and each is signed on the back.) I haven’t been creating in quite a while, until very recently. My life has been out of control, to say the least. I don’t normally post personal matters here, but for some strange...

Handmade Owl Leather Purse

Handmade Owl Leather Purse

My first handmade purse: pyrography, dye, carpal tunnel syndrome, and tears on leather. Not for sale. Hopefully I’ll be able to make more purses available for adoption, but this one I consider a prototype and too rough around the edges for selling. Plus, I think I am a little too emotionally connected to it to let it “fly”. 😉 I am new to leatherwork. I am probably doing everything wrong! But if you’re interested, here’s a bit about the process I used in making this handbag: I used the Vista Handbag Kit from Tandy...

Self Portrait

Update: this piece has sold, so I will not be exhibiting it as previously planned. I WILL however still be at the event linked to below. This self portrait is mixed media (Sakura Pigma Micron pens, Derwent Inktense pencils, silver leaf pen, Dr. Ph. Martins liquid watercolor) on birch, 8.75″ x 24″. It will be hanging at ArtLoveMagic’s gallery (at South Side on Lamar) as part of their annual El Dia de los Muertos exhibit. The opening for this exhibit is Friday, November 4th at 7:00 p.m. I will be there with a booth full of new...

Leather Knife Holder

So after getting into making the leather cuff bracelets, I decided to try my hand at something else and bought a couple of knife holder/case kits. This one is burned, painted (acrylic leather paint) and hand-stitched. Oh yes, I collected more tools and what-not. Because I can’t stop. Make all the...

Leather Cuff Bracelets

Leather Cuff Bracelets

I have had SO much fun making these leather cuff bracelets. I’m pretty consumed with them. My free time of late is rather slim, but I make these every chance I get. I’ve been using leather bracelet blanks that are cut and come with snaps on them, but I’m also getting into cutting custom sizes and adding my own snaps, grommets, eyelets, etc. I started out just drawing designs on and burning them with my Razertip burner, but then I discovered (thanks, Internet!) that an acrylic paint exists that is specifically for leather! I...
